Effects of Child Molestation

TEEN PREGNANCY!

Why aren’t we talking about the connection between child molestation and teen pregnancy?

  • Children of teen mothers are 50% more likely to repeat a grade, less likely to finish high school, and have lower performance on standardized tests.
  • Children of teen mothers are also at great risk for a number of economic, social, and health problems.
  • 22% of children born to teen mothers are more likely to become teen mothers themselves.
  • Compared to children with older mothers, teen mothers are twice as likely to be abused and neglected.

(As reported by The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy).
